Lin van Hek is an Australian writer, singer, painter, fashion designer and artist.

She was the 1988 winner of the Melbourne The Age Short Story Award, included

in 2015 Best Australian Poems, edited by Geoff Page, and was the 2016 and 2017

winner of the Society of Women Writers Short Story Contest. A story she published

in Quadrant May 2013, ‘This Most Privileged of Madnesses,’ was commented on, by

then-literary editor Les Murray AO, as, ‘most definitely the very best short story I have

read. Possibly up there with the best ever written.
